It's tough, huh? You want a cuddly, lovable, playful companion, but you also want a companion that filters the air you breathe and makes you smile every time you water it. And cats... well, they like plants a little TOO much. While a lot of plants are toxic to cats, a lot of them are fine but just don't survive the day when you let your furbaby near them.

So. Can cats and plants coexist? Absolutely! You just need to be careful. I've got some tips below for easing this household strife.

Opt for wall-hanging propagation tubes to expand your plant life.

Propagation plays a key part in multiplying your plants, but my cats always seem to go after the countertop babies.

After losing several propagations to my feline friends, I decided to switch to wall hanging tubes like the one shown here. It's an absolutely adorable addition to your decor! Get your own propagation tube setup.

More plant hangers!

If you haven't gotten yourself these adorable macrame plant hangers, then I honestly don't know what you're doing with your life. They are super cute, and they keep your plant beauties just out of reach of curious paws.

Soil Protectors... GENIUS

For people whose fur babies like to go digging in the soil of their precious plants, this is the tool for you. It will keep the soil locked in so that your plants get an extra chance at life!

Cat Gardens

This Hello Kitty cat grass garden is a match made in heaven.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. This certainly applies to cats... they're gonna chew on your plants anyway, so you might as well give them something nontoxic and adorable. The fact that it's Hello Kitty is even more perfect!

Plant Cabinets

For those cats who will only be stopped by a glass barrier: the plant cabinet.

These suckers are HANDY. The glass wall keeps your cat friends from interfering. Plus, you can set up grow lights and a mister, and give your plant babies even better conditions than they would have just sitting out on a shelf... so win, win!

Does anyone have any other ways they help their cats and plants coexist? Leave a comment and let me know!
